  • This project is to lead a group of culturally diverse members from an urban ethnic church in developing selection and training criteria for deacons to minister cross-culturally. The project involved three phases. Phase one included the selection of participants from diverse cultural backgrounds, and designing of learning activities. Phase two was the actual training event. Phase three involved the post-training interview and evaluation of participants and the project director. Documents on deacon selection and training criteria were produced. This project demonstrated that transformational, intentional and relational leadership styles are essential for leaders to lead effectively in a multicultural setting.
