Abstracto

This project proposes and tests an 'explicit' model to assess spiritual needs of hospital patients, comparing the effectiveness of visits using the explicit model to visits using 'implicit' assessment. Working with two groups of patients, the project tries both assessment methods and evaluates the results through patient surveys. The group receiving implicit assessment reports greater assistance with stress and physical recovery. Those receiving explicit assessment report greater assistance with spiritual, mental, and emotional adjustment.
