  • At the heart of this paper, entitled Millennials, postmodernity, and cross-cultural immersions (the theological intersection at which postmodern teenagers experience God through cross-cultural immersion), the author researched essentially three bodies of literature. The first body of literature dealt with postmodernity and the generational distinctiveness and nuances of that field. The author claims that Millennials (born between 1982-2000) are the most postmodern generation to date. The second body of literature deals exclusively with postmodernity and its relationship specifically with white-upper-middle-class youth ministry in the United States. In the third and final section, the author interviewed several Millennial students, asking them to share their insights concerning personal cross-cultural immersion experiences done through the local congregation at the Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida.
