  • The purpose of this thesis project is to examine the nature of renewal, relative to the people of God, as depicted in a familiar passage of scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14. In this passage God promised that if his people would humble themselves, pray, seek his face, and turn from their wicked ways, he would in turn forgive and restore them to a proper relationship with himself. These pathways to restoration are not only the means by which God perpetually renews his people; they are also the corridors by which piety is sustained in the life of the believer and the community of faith.
