  • The purpose of this research was to evaluate the ability of electronically-generated visual imagery to complement and enhance the preacher's spoken word allowing congregants better involvement with the message. This study was a quantitative, quasi-experimental study utilizing two churches and two groups within each church, one control and one experimental. The analysis of data collected from the Personal Involvement Inventory determined the impact of visual imagery upon the sermons' ability to involve congregants. The findings of this study help local churches in their dialogue concerning the perceived ability of technology to enhance the ministry of proclamation.
