  • This project found that Christian education in the military is usually done within the parameters of the chapel program with opportunities offered outside these bounds through selected activities and the ministry of presence of the chaplain or educator. One unique place for ministry is the Service-member Opportunity College found on many military posts. A chaplain or religious educator may bring together psychology, sociology, philosophy and theology to help students become informed and discover new meaning for their lives. The author developed this project while teaching a course on Contemporary Moral Issues at Saint Leo College. He used survey instruments at the beginnning and end of the course.
