Abstract
  • This project provides opportunities for laypersons to meet in social and spiritual settings, to celebrate their unique cultural heritage while experiencing a greater unity in Christ, and to share their stories of faith in creative and exciting ways. People from 14 cultures and ethnic groups took part in activities that included an international dinner, pastoral sessions that focused on the wisdom found in 1 Peter, surveys designed to solicit suggestions for 'Creating a Caring Congregation,' Advent displays celebrating the importance of Jesus' birth as perceived by people of cultures around the world, a multicultural Christmas pageant, and an Epiphany Sunday celebration in which 11 lay members shared personal stories of how their lives were changed through the presence of Jesus Christ.
