  • The purpose of the project was to assist a local congregation to explore self-understanding and identity, and develop a strategic focus for embracing its multicultural nature. Through a process of analysis and informed planning, the church was able to articulate its core values, resulting in the formulation of a mission statement. A philosophy statement that defined the church's intentional ministries was created and implemented toward the church's preferred future. The research involved data collection through congregational surveys and discussion groups to describe contextual history, congregational perceptions, present conflicts. Data analysis, development of proposed strategies and criteria for evaluation followed.
