Marriage and family counseling with the poor is presented as a communal effort in this thesis, based on the communal aspect of the Triune God. It continues with the call of Christ to be in ministry to the world. The therapeutic style described is eclectic in composition, though formed by Bowenian theories of family therapy. The primary assessment tool is the genogram. The case study demonstrates a family moving from crisis to functional with the assistance of various agencies. The need for the various agencies to form teams with a coordinator to ensure all issues are covered will be uncovered.
