- Abstract
- The purpose of this project is to develop an alternative model of leadership development for a multi-ethnic church in New York City. The project distinctives are its unwavering committment to the self-directed learning ability of an adult believer and to the local church as the pillar and bulwark of the truth. It extensively uses learning contracts in the learning process. However, it does not imply learning in isolation. Much mutuality is found among a group of self-directed learners in a learning cell group. The result of learning in sixteen planned weeks suggested that genuine learning had taken place.
