- This retrospective pilot project illuminates the interpersonal dynamic of Ignatian Trinitarian mystical prayer. It also examines the healing impact of Saint Ignatius Loyola's Spiritual Exercises on a select group of participants from within the theological diagnostic framework of the Ignatian guidelines for discerning spirits. Two competing contextual settings for giving and making the Spiritual Exercises, the 'at-home' model and the 'retreat house' model, vie to answer the central question: Which contextual setting better produces long-term healing, affecting the heart and behavior of the retreatant? Both contextual settings were found to be highly efficacious in bringing about healing.
