Abstrait

The purpose of this project was to research the field of crisis communications in order to develop a crisis communications guide for churches in the Southern Baptist Convention. This ministry project was based on the ministry research model offered by New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The project director selected a customized specialization to reflect her unique spiritual gifts and ministry setting.The ministry project began with extensive research on the topic of crisis communications. This research was not limited to crisis communications in a religious setting, but it examined the broader subject of crisis communications in general. This research allowed the project director to glean best practices in the field of crisis communications. The ministry project culminated in the development of a crisis communications guide to assist churches of the Southern Baptist Convention in their crisis response. The guide is applicable to churches of varying sizes, contexts, and ethnicities within the Southern Baptist Convention.
