  • This thesis addressed the issue of recovery ministry and the church. The researcher used surveys, interviews, case studies and observational studies to understand the barriers recovering people face. The conclusions of this study reveal how 1) every recovery church will struggle with stigma, 2) recovery ministry is a life-changing ministry method, and 3) all churches have what it takes to do effective recovery ministry provided that they adopt a restorative model of ministry.
