  • The objective of this study was to facilitate a biblically and medically based health program to African American women, to increase their awareness of good health and its importance. Eight African American women attended two health workshops and studied daily with the Fruit of the Spirit devotional guide over a three-week period. The participants complete pre- and post-workshop questionnaires to determine any changes in their health and spiritual views after completing the program. The knowledge of medical and spiritual health of the women increased after the program. The findings indicate that this program may serve as a stimulus to African American women to live healthier lives.
