Abstracto

The thesis is based upon local congregations needing help in recognizing the importance of our rapidly aging society and accepting the responsibility for being in ministry with the whole person, from birth until death. Research included the reading of a wide range of books and periodicals, gathering materials from a variety of institutions and agencies of and for the aging, taking seminary courses, writing research papers, visiting programs for the elderly and working with the elderly in a local church. In conclusion both society and local congregations are beginning to recognize 'aging' as a priority and are programming to meet their needs.
