- Abstract
- This project was designed to establish a collaborative partnership among the school, church, parents and community to improve 'at-risk' students' performance. Its objective was to change negative attitudes and behaviors towards school through teaching spiritual values (character education) to 'at-risk' students. The project was undertaken in the Amityville Union Free School District #6 with the Living Hope Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, East Massapequa, New York. Results of the model were measured by evaluating pretest and posttest student responses administered prior to and concluding a series of five character workshops.
