Abstract
  • The Wilmington Ohio Seventh-day Adventist congregation built a modest church facility in 1999. The construction process presented natural opportunities to encourage change while the parishioners concretely considered their comprehensive needs. A newly formed committee met monthly to reflect upon congregational renewal in five areas: worship, youth ministry, guest friendliness, outreach, and community relations. They also planned worship programming to transition from the former to the new church facility. Interviews, surveys, and the planned church services revealed that renewal had been initiated in the five areas. The grand opening or homecoming church service epitomized renewal.
