  • Afrikan/Afrikan American Christians have been immersed in a Eurocentric expression of Christianity that has significantly distorted their understanding of the faith of their ancestors and alienated them from their culture and history. Colonialism and worldwide enslavement of Afrikans has contributed to the systemic destruction of Afrikan history, culture, and religious traditions. Interviews were conducted with members of the Village Church in Nashville, Tennessee to access the impact of Eurocentric interpretations of the Christian faith in the development of their faith. This study hopes to provide a resource to the Afrikan Church on the continent and throughout the Diaspora to aid in the spiritual re-formation of the Afrikan family around the world.
