  • This project developed and implemented a pastoral approach for cases of abusive children. The approach was an enhancement of Holland's and Henriot's 'pastoral circle.' The structure of the approach is informed by cases of abusive children. Two case studies are offered with reflection on the approach developed and abusive children themselves. Results showed the approach to be positive especially in combining input from theology and social sciences. The children were noted to be unrealistic in their assessment of their relationships with other family members. The thesis that input from social science would enhance performance in ministry was thus substantiated.
