  • The problem this project will address is the need for intentional missional engagement as a necessary discipline for spiritual formation. Spiritual practices that re-orient people within the larger missio dei were investigated in a nine-month research study which utilized a mixed method approach of phenomenological and empirical methodologies. The research identified transformational practices that later came to be defined as the spiritual discipline of Intentional Missional Engagement. This discipline solidly roots a person's motivation and expression in the larger mission of God while opening the person for substantial transformation.
