  • This project presents a family systems marriage enrichment model which gives primary attention to the impact of family of origin on marriage. By using such things as lectures on optimal family functioning, sculpting, circular questions, homework, and redescription questions, it seeks to help couples become aware of and change the family of origin relational processes which inhibit greater marital satisfaction. Relational processes in six areas are focused on: roles, emotional expression, individuation, power distribution, communication, and subsystems. A threefold theological rationale for such ministry is provided, via a discussion of the reality of the transgenerational flow of sin and the relationship between basic self-differentiation and psychological and spiritual wholeness.
