Abstracto

Ministry teams play an important role in the structure and outreach of most churches, yet few of them function effectively. This project examined two coaching tools, Gallup StrengthsFinder and World Harvest Mission Gospel-Centered Life, to determine if using them in combination improved team effectiveness to a greater degree than using either tool alone. Seventeen participants on two core leadership teams from church plants in urban Philadelphia were trained with both tools. The qualitative research was conducted by self-evaluation surveys that gathered information before and after each phase of training. The results suggest that adding the Gospel-Centered Life discipleship training to to StrengthsFinder assessment contributes to improved overall health and effectiveness of participating ministry teams.
