  • Mankind was made for community, yet community does not happen automatically. Advancements in communication and transportation have enabled people to live more dispersed from one another. This lack of proximity has created a commuter culture. This dissertation looks at the concept of community both biblically and theologically. The digital age has produced an abundance of technological communication tools. This work examines their importance in developing and in hindering community. The concept of 'missionality' as a key to forming community with traditional attractional churches is also presented. Insights from local Pacific Northwest churches are melded into the research of this paper.
