  • A basic need among Australian Presbyterian churches is for men to take active leadership in their families and the church, not only as pastors but also as elders who are committed to ministry as a part of their responsibilities. This project develops an elder training program based on current Australian attitudes toward leadership in society and the church, in order to prepare elders who are spiritually mature, pastorally effective, and culturally acceptable in the Australian context. The project addresses spiritual maturity, a biblical and culturally effective style of leadership, and commitment to the responsibilities of an elder.
