  • The hypothesis of this project is that there is a correlation between unresolved family of origin issues of clergy and their decision to leave parish ministry. The main body of the project consists of three components: 1) review of Bowen family systems theory as it applies to the hypothesis; 2) research centered around a questionnaire solicited from clergy who have left parish ministry; and 3) a case study of a clergy family in which the minister had recently left parish ministry.
