- Abstract
- The Pauline cyle of church planting as articulated in David J Hesselgrave's Planting Churches Cross-Culturally (Hesselgrave 1980) provided the pattern for this step-by-step church planting master plan. In addition to a premeditation of the steps to be taken during the initial year of the church there is a chronicling of the implementation of this strategy integrated with a post-evaluation. The available resources and the role of the sponsoring churches are discussed in the early chapters. Getting to know the target audience, allowing them exposure to the developing church, and effectively communicating the gospel are subsequent key areas covered. Securing a response to Christ that grew out of understanding, and which took into account culturally appropriate patterns of decision-making was a major concern of the church planters. Strengthening the new believer, and engendering congregational life and participation are among other issues addressed.
