Abstract
  • Based on an ecclesiology which supports and advocates the empowerment of laity for ministry within and beyond the church, this project examines roadblocks to lay ministries in the Church of Ireland. Six clergy education events explored ways of recognizing and empowering lay ministries in an effort to address these roadblocks. The aim was to equip clergy as facilitators of lay ministry as part of the renewal of the church in its mission in the world. The project was evaluated using pre/post-workshop questionnaires and/or written responses and by examining implementation by the General Synod's Board of Education.
