  • The purpose of this project was to develop a ministry-driven strategy to comfort family members affected by chemical addictions in Capshaw Baptist Church of Harvest, Alabama. The strategy was then to be presented to members of Capshaw Baptist Church (CBC) for consideration for adoption. The project was to lead a selected group of members in the development of a strategy that would serve as a ministry plan to address the emotional and spiritual needs of families suffering from chemical addictions in CBC. The team was to utilize selected principles from Aubrey Malphurs' process of advanced strategic planning. Research for the project centered upon the discovery of available resources directed toward the family member of the addicted person. The student researched the availability of existing local church ministries or programs for family members of addicted persons, and Christian-based addiction recovery programs in the state that touched on the family members' need in the recovery process. The research also included the evaluation of available resources discovered through Turning Point, a Christian clearinghouse for recovery materials.
