Abstract
  • This project offers a new mode of reformation for the Lutheran Church, suggesting that a praxis ministry provides the proper corrective to pervasive quietism in the church. Making use of a spirituality assessment tool developed from a contextual practical theology, the project measures the effects of praxis ministry on spiritual disposition (including perceptions of God, faith, and mission). The research indicates that the method is effective in accomplishing this goal. The conclusion suggests a number of further applications for the 'Communitarian Spirituality Assessment Tool', including work with congregational councils, spiritual growth and discipleship strategies, spiritual development, and ecumenical understanding.
