Abstract
  • This thesis voices the concern that our churches and congregations utilize the gifts of wisdom and experience of our aging population. The author as an active eighty-four year old ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, explores her own spiritual life journey and that of faithful friends, past and present. Her research into the writings of well-known theologians and other social scientists, confirms her belief that aging well means addressing our spiritual, emotional and physical well-being, and stresses he need to eliminate problems of ageism and negative stereotypes of older persons.
