Abstrait

This action research project demonstrates the benefits of God's natural world--the outdoors--in the lives of individuals through a five-day 'immersion' in an outdoor environment. Eight program activity units formed the core of the experience: group building, pre/post testing, journaling, sensory-intensifying experiences, group worship, quiet times alone, leader's teaching times, and participant teching/learning sessions. Using a variety of assessment tools, the project confirmed that physical, emotional, spiritual, and social benefits (as the literature in this field had indicated) can be demonstrated following an intensive exposure to the outdoors.
