- The project locates the roots of spirituality within the behavioral patterns of an alternate, cognitive mode of perception which the author calls the Auxiliary Reserve. The unconscious aspect of personality is referred to by Carl Jung as the tertiary function. The vulnerability of the Auxiliary Reserve contributes to the development of spirituality by reminding the psyche of its incomplete nature while counteracting the level of the psyche's conscious activity. A Personality Type Inventory is developed to identify the focus of an individual's spirituality in terms of the perceptual approach within the Auxiliary Reserve.
