Abstracto

The growth of American cities has been accompanied by a deterioration of urban life and the movement of many Christian churches to the suburbs. This has resulted in resource-rich suburban churches having little redemptive influence on their urban neighbors. This report describes the efforts of one suburban church to begin urban ministries in an attempt to harness its resources on behalf of the city. It details the launch of three urban ministry teams with a goal ultimately to plant an urban church. The evaluations demonstrate this project's positive impact on its participants, the congregation, and the project director.
