Abstrato
  • A pattern of six essential elements in the doctrine and practice of ordination is discernible in the Bible and historical tradition. These elements are practiced across historical traditions and are applicable today. Through biblical, bibliographic and personal interviews, the author establishes that ordination is not a requirement for Christian ministry, but its proper practice enhances the health of local churches' ministries and is more than the rite itself. Ordination is the means by which the community and its leaders discern the will of God in identifying, nurturing, and establishing its ministers.
