  • This thesis project is an exploration of affects of consumer mentality on worship expectations among laity. It defines consumerism and worship, reports survey results from 134 laity and 18 clergy, and includes reflection on pastoral role and method in leading worship that is theocentric, corporate, and contextual. Pros and cons of cultural influences on worship are considered, including egocentrism, marketing, competition, individualism and shopping.
