This paper is intended to be a useful handbook for pastors as they engage in the practice of pastoral counseling of women who have experienced sexual abuse as children. The paper includes a report and analysis of a workshop organized and led by the author and Gretchen Helm, EdD. The workshop provides insights taken from an experience of reactions to the issues raised by the sexual abuse of female children. Because the paper deals exclusively with counseling female survivors the biblical and theological perspectives are weighted toward the feminist perspective. It is the author's contention that pastors, regardless of gender, can best serve female survivors of childhood sexual abuse from that perspective.
