  • Many Native Americans have never accepted Christianity because acceptance of Christianity is associated with denial of native culture. This project prepared a selected group of native believers to present a positive Christian witness in the context of native culture. Through participation in a seminar members of the group grew in their understanding of Christianity and culture. They acquired skills necessary to witness to nonreceptive and hostile people. First Indian Baptist Church is beginning to gain acceptance in the larger Indian community.
