- Abstract
- An original conceptual model addressing leadership fears along with a two-session mentoring process was developed, field-tested, and assessed. The components of the 'Adaptive Courage' model include irrational thoughts, emotional sabotage, relational seclusion, volitional inaction, and spiritual inattentiveness with their counterparts ensnared opportunity, humble confidence, selective vulnerability, incremental tenacity, and simple transcendence. Ten diverse leaders participated in individual intake and teaching sessions and follow-up debriefing and assessment sessions. Understanding and applying the model had a positive impact on the participants.
