Abstract
  • This project attempts to determine if a model of marriage enrichment which is informed by the categories of liberation theology will enhance the communication and problem-solving abilities of couples who are recovering from chemical dependency. It employs both a marriage enrichment weekend experience and growth group experience with two different groups of recovering couples. A critical awareness of the characteristics and dynamics of the relationship in recovery inform the methodology. The project lists resource materials and discusses results. It presents theological implications as well as indications for further ministry from the perspective of liberation theology.
