- Abstract
- The purpose of this ministry research project was to develop a strategy for spiritual renewal in the First Baptist Church of Booneville, Arkansas. Chapter one introduces the content and methodology of the project and defines the context of the church in which it was implemented. Chapter two sets forth the biblical and theological basis of the project, focusing on two key passages concerning spiritual renewal: 2 Chronicles 7:11-14 and Isaiah 6:1-8. Chapter two also examines scriptural and doctrinal perspectives on the Holy Spirit. Chapter three evaluates the lessons of past spiritual awakenings. The chapter addresses the First and Second Great Awakenings and the Prayer Revival of 1857-1858. Chapter four describes the project's methodology and implementation. Chapter five served as an evaluation of the effectiveness of the project, which was judged to be great: the church has experienced renewal and growth.
