Abstracto

According to the Barna Group, children in America generally are biblically illiterate. Their parents seem unaware of this fact, possibly because they share this quality. This study seeks to discover ways to initiate steps for intentional spiritual formation for families in small churches. By conducting a qualitative study of the self-reported beliefs and behavior concerning personal responsibility for child spiritual formation among specific parents in his church and in six additional churches, the author discovered a disconnect between their behavior and beliefs. He concludes that churches should develop appropriate intentional partnerships with parents which inform their family routines.
