- Abstract
- This project was designed to determine whether spiritual exercises and gifts of the Spirit that match personality type affect how parishioners perceive their personal spiritual vitality and congregation's spiritual vitality. The project involved a series of workshops that taught people a variety of spiritual exercises and the biblical/theological foundations for spiritual gifts; provided definitions for the gifts of the Spirit listed in Scripture; and, discussed the implications of gifts discovery in the life of the congregation. The workshop participants answered pre-workshop and post-workshop questionnaires which were analyzed according to the contributions of psychological type theory. The results indicated perception shifts in several categories.
