Abstrait

The central thesis of this project is that weddings and funerals can be proper settings for what is termed invitational evangelism. The project has three main parts: (1) chapter one lays out the theological underpinnings for the central thesis, a definition of evangelism that can be used effectively and with integrity in the preparation and carrying out of weddings and funerals, and three 'guidelines' pastors can use as they prepare weddings and funerals with evangelism in mind; (2) chapters two and three each contain three case studies which serve to illustrate the central thesis and function as models for pastors who wish to be more effective in their wedding and funeral ministries; (3) the fourth chapter summarizes the author's conclusions and learnings. The result of the project is a theologically driven resource for pastors who wish to minister effectively and evangelistically as they prepare and conduct weddings and funerals.
