  • The problem being investigated is how to engage Christians in developing a closer relationship with God before or after experiencing a spiritual disconnect. The participants were involved in participatory activities using the pro-active method. This approach works pro-actively toward transformation and intentionally engages in qualitative research. The participants exposed to spiritual tools involving scripture reading, prayer, meditation, and dialogue were able to identify God's invitation to intimacy. Evaluation of the project included entry and exit questionnaires, journaling, and exit interviews. The use of classical spiritual disciplines assisted the Christian participants in developing a closer relationship with God.
