Abstracto

The author's thesis delves into the effects and challenges confronting the pastor, his family, church and community resulting from a physical disability to the pastor's spouse. The author used a qualitative research method for gathering data. Personal interviews from pastors faced with this dilemma, plus questionnaires and interviews from his family, churches and communities, where he pastored with his disabled wife, played a significant role in his research. As well, an archival research into the effects and challenges facing caregivers and their families added to his insights. From the heartrending anguish to the tender consolation resident in God's grace, the author reveals how the adjustments and acceptance of the challenges initiated a transformation that inadvertently provided consolation and inspiration to others.
