This project addresses the ministry of the 'Bible school,' particularly in a missionary setting. The project analyzes and seeks means to counter falling enrollment at one such school, Kobe Lutheran Bible Institute in Japan. The project distributed questionnaires from graduates and from other schools in similar settings. Findings revealed that socioeconomic factors and failure of the school to adapt to needs of the national church were the main causes of declining support. Following this study, more flexible structures and course profiles are being introduced, without sacrificing basic Bible instruction.
