- The purpose of the study is to discover motivation factors that caused spiritual growth group participation among a sample of people from Indian Creek Christian Church. The sample is drawn over a two year period. The motivational participation factors of the fifty-six respondents are studied empirically to evaluate their correlation with individual characteristics of the participants' individual religiosity inventory scores and church participation theories. The study concludes that individual characteristics of participants and participation theories have a measurable effect on participation and that participants do not remain active in growth groups for the same reasons they join growth groups.
