  • This project represents practical research in communication by the author, who worked with the Asbury United Methodist Church North congregation of Columbus, Ohio, to investigate the effect of story-telling upon the imagination of the participants. A pilot group provided feedback throughout the investigation. Results of the investigation indicate that story-telling is an effective style of preaching and that both the preacher and the listening audience appear to relate to the stories presented and are more successful at remembering what the sermon was about.
