- Abstract
- The purpose of this project is to address the problem of lack of vitality in worship in many black United Methodist churches in the North Carolina Conference. Experiential worship in the Methodist revivalist spirit is the impetus through which Saint Peter United Methodist Church in Hamlet, North Carolina was revived. Through direct observation, worship evaluations and candid interviews, the writer has discovered the benefits of this model as a pathway to revival. Although the model is designed to address specific concerns and dynamics of black churches, it can be successfully implemented in any worship setting to promote revival.
