The project evolved from the question: how will a marriage preparation program for engaged couples affect marital relationships in Sweden? The hypothesis was that couples would experience a greater degree of marital satisfaction after having participated in the program. Eight engaged couples participated in the program which was developed by the author. Each of the couples took the PREPARE marital inventory at the beginning (pre-test) and end (post-test) of the program to measure the progress of the couples and the effectiveness of the program. The research indicated that the program made a positive impact on the couples as they entered into marriage.
